Fernando Huanacuni Mamami

Fernando is a politician, lawyer and researcher of the Aymara Nation in Bolivia. He served as the Foreign Minister of Bolivia and is presiding chair and senior fellow of the Center of Studies – Andean Amazonian Cosmovision SARIRI, (C.E.C.A.A.S).

Huanacuni's research consists of indigenous peoples' ancestral worldview and history. He is also a political activist in Bolivia and travels internationally to support the political cause of indigenous people. He promotes the reconstruction of the ancestral identity of the original indigenous nations. He is a renowned expert of the cosmovisions and ancient philosophies of indigenous peoples and communities of Abya Yala in the Americas.

He remains an educator and researcher of the legal systems of indigenous peoples and was a faculty member of the law department at the University of San Andres in La Paz, Bolivia.
